Dear Families
Last week our Foundation/Year 1 students enjoyed an excursion to Healesville Sanctuary. They learned about a variety of animals and their habitats, and everyone had a wonderful day exploring and discovering together.

Our church celebrates All Saints day on Saturday and All Souls day on Sunday.
Prayer for All Saints and All Souls Day
Loving God,
We thank You for the saints who have shown us how to live with faith, hope, and love.
May their example inspire us to be kind, caring, and brave in following You each day.
We also pray for all souls who have gone before us.
Welcome them into Your loving arms and grant them eternal peace.
Bless our school community, and help us to live as Your saints-in-the-making —
sharing Your light with everyone we meet.
Amen.
School Reports
At St Joseph's school we believe working together with parents makes a big difference in our students' learning. Communication is a positive part of this relationship. We formally report student progress each term. Additionally, parents are very welcome to make an appointment to see their child's classroom teacher whenever they have a concern or wondering.
Term 1: Parent/Teacher conversations early in the year
Term 2: Written reports at the end of the term
Term 3: Parent/Teacher interviews (week 6)
Term 4: Written reports at the end of term
This term written reports will be available on PAM on Monday December 15th. Hard copy reports will be available on request.

Day For Daniel
Day for Daniel is a National Day of Action hosted by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation (DMF) to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention. Held on the last Friday of October each year, it is about educating children and adults about keeping kids safe through child safety and protection initiatives. Tomorrow we are all encouraged to wear red on this day.
Tomorrow is also World Teacher's Day. Students are encouraged to write a letter or card or pick a flower from the garden, to thank their teachers. Our teachers give so much of their energy and positiveness to our work, it really is nice to go out of our way to personally thank them for their work.
Remember Monday Nov 3rd and Tuesday Nov 4th are school holidays. Happy Melbourne Cup Day.
May God continue to bless us in our learning.

After very careful consideration, the staff have set the class structure for 2026. The structure is: F/1, Gr 1/2, Gr 3/4, Gr 4/5 & Gr 6.
We have begun the process of planning our class lists for the 2026 school year. Whilst this is an onerous and time-consuming task, we are blessed to have such a knowledgeable staff who are aware of each student’s individual needs and work collaboratively to make professional judgements in relation to class planning and student placement. When deciding our individual class structures, a number of factors are taken into account, which include: • Student’s social, emotional, academic and physical development • Student’s cognitive development • Student relationships • Family dynamics, eg. sibling placement • Teacher knowledge, skill and expertise • Enrolment numbers at the various levels • Practical resources, such as space. If your child has a particular need or there is important information that we should be aware of when considering class placement for the 2026 school year, we ask that parents put this information in writing and submit it via email to; principal@trafalgar.catholic.edu.au All requests are specifically about your child’s needs. Obviously, we cannot accommodate requests for particular teachers; we can only look at the needs of each individual child. All email requests need to be submitted by close of business on Monday November 17th and we ask parents to understand that all requests will be considered on merit but there are no guarantees. Any requests received after the above date will not be taken into consideration and once grades have been set there will be no changes.
If your family’s enrolment situation at St Joseph’s is changing in the future, we would also appreciate you letting us know. An accurate indication of student numbers assists us enormously in our planning for 2026.
We are very fortunate to have Kathy Grass and her wonderful dog, Oakley, as part of our school community. Many of us have experienced the positive impact Oakley brings when working with students and staff. Recently, Kathy and Oakley achieved outstanding results in their Animal Assisted Therapy Human-Canine Community Team Training. Congratulations to you both — we love having you at our school!
In week 9 we will run our 5 day swimming program from Monday December 1st through to Friday December 5th. The students will travel by bus to Warragul Leisure Centre each day to participate in a 45 minute swimming lesson by trained swimming teachers. This is an important part of the curriculum and it is expected that all students will participate. The information note and the permission form will be on PAM in the coming weeks. Your child is encouraged to either wear their bathers to school under their uniform or bring their bathers (this is a good option if your child has a one piece suit) in a smaller bag to take swimming. We are looking for parent helpers, especially in the junior classes. All helpers must have a current Working with Children's Check. If you are able to help please let your classroom teacher know.

From 1 January 2026, families eligible for Camps Sports Excursion Fund (CSEF) will increase in support to $400 for primary students, up from $154 per student in 2025.
Application forms for fee concessions for the 2026 school year for any applicant who is not a current CSEF recipient, are available  from Janelle in the office.
Booklists 2026
We are doing things a little differently for 2026, instead of each family completing a Stationery Order for each of their children, and then buying the items, the teachers will do a big class order and distribute the items to your child, at school, early in the year. DOSCEL (Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Ltd) has approved the inclusion of a Stationery Levy in our School Fees.
