Dear families
Holy Week Prayer
In the coming weeks during Holy Week we remember the time Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, and the people cheered for him. Help us to be happy and excited about your love.
We remember the Last Supper, when Jesus shared a meal with his friends and told them to love one another. Help us to be good friends and to love each other.
We remember the time Jesus was crucified, and how he died for our sins. Help us to be thankful for his sacrifice.
In this reflection time in Holy Week, we ask for your forgiveness for the times we have done wrong. Help us to learn from our mistakes and to be better people.
We pray that Jesus will rise again on Easter Sunday, and that we will have new life in him. Help us to be excited about the hope of Easter. Amen.

Mother's Day Celebrations
We have a special celebration planned for our Mums on Friday May 9th. Please see information on the below flyer. Mums I thought you'd appreciate some advance notice, in case you have to organise time off outside work. The event is not on CDFpay yet, but will be early next term.
We strongly encourage students NOT to bring these devices to school. If you think your child needs a phone, it is to be kept in their bag all day as it is not to be used at school. If your child is playing with the device, the device will be put in the teacher's drawer and your child needs to remember to get it before they go home (it is your child's responsibility to remember to take their device home).
Student smartwatches are ONLY to be used for telling the time during school hours. Smartwatches must have ‘school mode’ enabled which limits the smartwatch to telling the time with no other functionality. Student smartwatches that are not able to be restricted to telling the time only, with no other functionality, must be handed to the teacher at the beginning of the school day and collected at the end of the school day. It is my opinion that primary school students do not need a smart watch, it is much better to teach them to tell the time using an analogue clock.
Bus travellers please remember that there is no bus tomorrow afternoon, you will need to organise another way home. Everyone please remember that school dismissal time tomorrow is 1pm.
Wishing you all a peaceful holiday and a Holy Easter.
Trish

Children these days seem to be going to bed later and later. Distractions such as TV, computer games, internet, texting friends and social media are all having a negative impact on a child’s sleep time. Sleep is vital to a child’s wellbeing. When children sleep well, they are more settled, happier and ready for school the next day. Sleep also strengthens their immune systems, supports overall development and their ability to function properly on a daily basis. Children who do not get enough sleep show increased levels of aggressive behaviour, are less attentive and are much less active. Trying to catch up on sleep on weekends is not the answer and can still lead to severe sleep deprivation. Recent studies have shown than many children, especially teenagers, are missing out on vital REM sleep, which is particularly important for memory and learning.
